Loachapoka High School Principal, Albert Weeden (Class of 2012) presented the LLC Class of 2017-2018 with a plaque for their service project renovating the baseball and softball fields at LHS.
Auburn University’s Director of Athletics Allen Greene was the guest speaker at the 2018 Summertime Leadership Lee County Alumni Breakfast!
Greene shared some of his personal anecdotes as well as his philosophy on productive leadership styles.
Members of the LLC Class of 2014-2015 got together recently for fellowship over smoked meats and Memaw’s eclairs at Bow & Arrow!
Leigh Krehling, Community Relations Officer for the City of Opelika, was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the United Way. Leigh helped the city to raise more than $30,000 for the United Way.
Congratulations to Leigh for this notable achievement in support of the City of Opelika and the United Way, and for your continued contributions to Leadership Lee County!
Charlie Saliba, LLC Class of 2016 – 2017, was recently awarded the Collaborative Spirit Award from AUburn University. The recipient of this award exemplifies a true collaborative spirit. He or she volunteers to assist others and cheerfully provides feedback when called upon. This employee proactively offers thoughtful guidance, share creative ideas, and provide innovative solutions to others. While achieving his/her goals, this colleague also works to help others be successful.
Daniel Chesser was recently honored as a “35 Under 35” next generation leader by the National School Public Relations Association!
We are very excited to share that one of this year’s current class members, Justin Murphy, was honored today at the Auburn Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting!
Justin received the “Spirit of Auburn” award for embodying what it means to be an active, supportive and most importantly, friendly member of our community!

Applications for Leadership Lee County Class of 2016-2017 Will Be Available June 1, 2016
Leadership Lee County applications for the upcoming class of 2016-2017 will be available June 1, 2016. This program, sponsored by the Auburn and Opelika Chambers of Commerce, seeks out, honors, educates, challenges and develops a select group of leaders who live or work in Lee County and have the potential to provide the leadership needed to solve problems of community and statewide significance.
Participants are selected on the basis of ability, demonstrated interest in the community and potential for responsible and effective leadership. The program begins in September 2016 with a retreat and reception and continues with monthly seminars followed by a graduation celebration in May 2017. The monthly seminars highlight community issues and trends while incorporating professional development and community awareness.
Please come back June 1, 2016 to obtain a copy of the 2016-2017 application. Note that all completed applications are due no later than July 31, 2016.
